Betting company PaddyPower and BoyleSports acquired several land offices in Ireland, as intended range of services and expand its presence in the country.
The company Paddy Power has received approval from the Commission on competition and consumer protection (Competition and Consumer Protection Commission – CCPC) on 6 acquisition of licensed bookmakers, privately owned family company bookmaker John Mulholland, resulting in a ground network of the company in Ireland will consist of more than 230 offices. The acquisition was approved by the CCPC, as the company Mulholland is on the verge of a major restructuring, since in 2013 its losses amounted to 1.5 mln. Euros. Brothers Alan and Eddie Mulholland plan to maintain and continue the work of the seven offices remaining from their network.
Two other offices of Mulholland became the property of the bookmaker Boylesports, Ireland’s ground network which already has 210 offices, after the acquisition of two independent bookmaker companies in Northern Ireland. In the near future the company plans to expand its network in the country to 250 offices and, therefore, expresses its readiness to participate in the auction of all betting companies that will be put up for sale in the near future.
The company also BoyleSports PaddyPower and may soon have an opportunity to expand their land network in England, since after the recent merger of the companies Ladbrokes and Coral , as required by CCPC, they will be forced to sell some of its land offices.
